About You: Recent studies have shown most of a company’s GHG come from the supply chain (Scope 3). The Procurement Manager needs to be a dynamic, focused individual with proven experience in sourcing and project management as well as a strong knowledge and passion for Sustainable Procurement and ESG initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Procurement Manager will report to the Global Director of Strategic Sourcing and be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, key internal and external partners in the ESG space and customers when required.
  • Leading assigned sourcing initiatives which vary in terms of scope and scale
  • Leading RFQs, award recommendations and final contract negotiations within given category.
  • Facilitating monthly procurement ESG project meetings involving procurement and site members representing PCI sites globally. Leading implementation at the site level of new suppliers or initiatives

The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the measurement of PCI’s Scope 3 emissions to ensure timely collection and accurate reporting of supply chain data in compliance with CSRD, CSDDD, and other local and global regulatory requirements and ESG frameworks.
  • Monitoring the supplier diversity program, ensuring alignment with sustainable procurement goals, managing data collection and compliance documentation while providing timely reporting on a regular basis to support transparency and compliance.
  • Ensuring alignment across existing and new policies, procedures, KPIs against Sustainable Procurement program goals.
  • Identifying high impact reduction opportunities in the supply chain by collaborating with suppliers to reach net-Zero target Conducting supplier assessments to proactively identify ESG-related risks and close gaps between current processes and international human rights frameworks.
  • Establishing supplier communications and training to implement and support initiatives that drive the company’s supplier engagement strategy for reduction efforts Initiating and implementing the identified project(s).
  • The Purchasing Manager will be expected to attend bi-weekly meetings for both Sustainable Procurement and Global ESG, among others as necessary.
  • Full support will be available, both practical and advisory to encourage the Purchasing Manager share their knowledge and passion throughout the procurement team as well as the organization. We are truly committed to working together to make a real difference.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Highly organized, proactive and self-starting
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ total experience in purchasing and sustainability 
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical/food/manufacturing environment preferred
  • Rapid learner with a passion for ESG and Sustainable Procurement topics, such as responsible sourcing, supplier diversity and supplier sustainability initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple projects ensuring internal and external deadlines are met
  • Exceptional writing, communication, presentation, project management, organization and analytical skills

Desired Experience & Skills:

  • Negotiation and basic contracting experience highly desired
  • Supplier Management or experience managing external relationships highly desired
  • Analytical, ability to evaluate proposals and make fact-based recommendations
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively across teams, departments and regions
  • Able to develop and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Familiarity with climate and ESG vendor landscape (such as EcoVadis, SBTi)
