The Helper Bees (THB) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Product Management to lead our Product Team strategy and execution. What you'll do:

As Director of Product Management you will lead a small, high-performing team of five product managers, guiding them through the complexities of product discovery, delivery, and optimization. This individual will work closely with the cross-functional product teams composed of a product manager, product engineers and a product designer. This individual will also work closely with business stakeholders, to ensure alignment with strategic goals. The Director will instill best practices, and cultivate a product culture focused on customer outcomes, innovation, and continuous improvement.  Additionally they will advocate with departments across the company for instilling a product culture.

To thrive in this role, you will need strong leadership skills, expertise in data-driven decision-making, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will also mentor and develop product management teams, aligning efforts across departments to achieve business goals.

  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Help lead, with the CPO and other Product Directors, our ongoing transformation to a stronger culture of rapid, iterative learning-focused product development approach.
    • Lead and mentor a team of product managers, setting clear objectives, fostering a high-performance culture, and providing ongoing coaching to maximize team potential.
    • Oversee performance management by regularly assessing team capabilities and results, offering feedback, and recognizing achievements.
    • Hold the team accountable for meeting deadlines and quality standards, and ensure alignment with the product strategy.
    • Cultivate a collaborative environment by facilitating seamless cross-functional collaboration between product managers, product engineers, and product designers, with a strong focus on user-centric problem-solving, as they work together within outcome-led product teams.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • With CPO and other Product Directors, define, communicate, and drive the product vision, strategy. Work with product teams on the roadmap in alignment with broader business goals.
    • Champion continuous improvement and innovation, identifying opportunities for product enhancements, optimization, and differentiation in the competitive market.
    • Prioritize problems and solutions based on data-driven insights, customer feedback, and market demands.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departmental leaders, including operations, product launch & support, sales, account management, and marketing to ensure alignment and integration of product objectives with broader business objectives.
    • Foster a culture of transparency, communication, and accountability across all levels of the organization.
    • Work directly with data, and with data analysts, to understand market/customer/user trends; Leveraging this data to inform product decisions and improve customer outcomes.
    • Work closely with Product Lifecycle Team for product launches and renewals to help the effort improve and the success rate of launches and client onboarding.
  • Product Expertise:
  • Understand the suite of THB products and how they fit together, including major functionality and features, as well as the value proposition. Enable the product managers and their teams to develop a shared understanding of the complete suite.
  • Regularly present product demos and updates to key internal and external stakeholders, gathering feedback to drive continuous improvement, as well as enabling product managers and product teams to deliver product demos to those stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership with a proven track record of mentoring high-performing product management teams.
  • Successfully transitioned teams from project-oriented to iterative development approaches, include  experience establishing and scaling product discovery practices and a track record of introducing and embedding rapid experimentation methods
  • Deep understanding of business and technical domains with the ability to quickly learn new industries.
  • Strategic thinker capable of driving product strategy in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Expertise in healthcare products/services or related industries, especially in geriatric care or managed care.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in using data to uncover insights and inform decisions.
  • Experience conducting ROI, or similar economic, analysis for healthcare or similar products.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • A detail-oriented and creative problem solver with a commitment to quality and innovation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or similar regulated environments is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Ability to remain at your designated workstation for the duration of the workday
