Business Analyst

Summary 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst with a strong background in healthcare revenue cycle management to join our Operational Intelligence team. In this fully remote role, you will play a critical role in discovering and implementing opportunities to improve our workflow data capture, identifying trends, and developing actionable insights to improve revenue cycle performance for our customers. 

 The ideal candidate has experience with the revenue cycle at hospital systems and familiarity with various types of non-clinical operational work. Inside of this domain, this candidate should have superior data analysis skills and an interest in data visualization. This role will be integral to the maturation of the Operational Intelligence products at Janus and will allow the opportunity for the candidate to gain experience using AI and ML to solve healthcare technology problems. 

Responsibilities 

• Scope and implement configurations to improve workflow data coverage and quality 

• Triage client and internal support tickets regarding workflow data coverage, quality, and presentation. 

• Conduct data quality assessments and identify areas for improvement in data accuracy and completeness.  

• Analyze large datasets related to healthcare claims processing, denials management, and reimbursement trends.  

• Identify and analyze root causes of revenue cycle inefficiencies and develop data-driven recommendations for improvement.  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to implement process improvements and drive revenue cycle optimization.  

• Prepare presentations and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications 

• 2-5 years of experience in a healthcare business analyst role required. 

• General familiarity with revenue cycle management (RCM), Practice Management, and EHR systems is preferred. Experience with Epic preferred. 

• Expertise in using data analysis tools to identify and quantify issues. Advanced Excel skills are required, SQL preferred. 

• Hands on experience in creating data visualizations in Amazon QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools preferred.     

• Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and complex problems. 

• Excellent prioritization, logical deduction and organizational skills. 

• Ability to innovate in a fast-growing work environment and comfortable dealing with ambiguity. 

• Highly motivated self-starter who is an excellent team player. 

• Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) skills.

Travel Requirements 

 This role does occasional require domestic travel.  These travel expectations will be communicated by the department manager or executive. Janus is committed to providing as much flexibility and advanced notice as possible related to scheduling travel. 

Physical Demands 

This job operated in a professional remote or in-office environment. This job uses standard office equipment. This job is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee has the flexibility to move as needed. Constantly operates a computer, phone, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. The employee frequently communicates with internal and/or external people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in a timely manner. Must be able to recognize objects from short and long distances.
