The Team:
Upstart’s Capital Markets team is responsible for securing institutional investor funding for Upstart Powered loans in the marketplace. The Capital Markets product team is responsible for building and maintaining the technology that powers our capital markets operations, which processes millions of dollars in loan transactions daily. We deliver solutions that streamline internal business processes, optimize investor relations, and support the growing needs of our platform. By developing high-performance systems and self-service tools, we ensure both internal stakeholders and our investor partners can engage with our platform efficiently and effectively. With a commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement, we play a critical role in driving the company’s growth and operational success.
As a Senior Product Manager, Capital Markets at Upstart, you’ll be part of the team charged with helping our Capital Markets business partners optimize internal business processes, enhance investor experience through self-service tools, and enhance the scalability and performance of our systems. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for these products, including KPIs and strategy, as well as execution. You own prioritization, definition, and delivery of important features that affect all parts of the Capital Markets business team and investor and experience.
How you’ll make an impact
- You’ll collaborate on the vision and strategy for our investor-facing products with the Capital Markets business team. What should we focus on, why, and when?
- You’ll understand the needs of investors and define and build new solutions to meet their needs
- You’ll work closely with our Capital Markets business team to identify and prioritize new and valuable tool and process improvements.
- You’ll launch features on a regular basis in conjunction with the engineering team
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-10 years experience in a product management role focused on financial products, with demonstrated success leading an engineering team to deliver critical initiatives.
- Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, from C-level to individual contributors
- Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends; excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
- Experience with product management and software development using an Agile development methodology
- Strong familiarity with capital markets, portfolio management and investment banking.
Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote
Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.
Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.
