Description of Work

Global Health Visions (GHV) is actively seeking a Senior Management Consultant to lead the operationalization of a major foundation’s strategic priorities and key initiatives, focused on global health and development policy and advocacy. In close collaboration with the client’s and GHV’s senior leadership, this role will oversee a small team of consultants and play a pivotal role in driving project oversight, managing partner relationships, streamlining processes, and ensuring cross-team alignment to deliver on key objectives. This is a three-month engagement with the potential for extension based on project needs and outcomes. The role involves direct engagement with client leadership and hands-on responsibility for managing critical organizational priorities, ensuring they align with broader strategic goals. Specific components of the work may include:

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Portfolio/Initiative Management

  • Lead the development and execution of high-impact, complex strategic initiatives, providing expert guidance to achieve defined outcomes and proactively addressing barriers to success.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, the primary point of contact, and the lead for the GHV team. Ensure the team's alignment with overarching strategic goals. Each GHV team member will own multiple high-profile organizational priorities or initiatives.
  • Design and implement robust project roadmaps, define key objectives, and establish streamlined processes to drive results efficiently across multiple workstreams.
  • Proactively anticipate challenges, monitor progress, and develop adaptive strategies and actionable recommendations to ensure project success in dynamic or ambiguous situations.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and accountability by delivering thought leadership, fostering collaboration, and enabling cross-functional teams to execute priorities with precision and impact.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to assess and align strategic priorities with day-to-day operations, ensuring organizational cohesion and goal alignment.
  • Serve as a critical bridge between internal and external stakeholders, facilitating seamless communication and ensuring clarity and consistency in updates, messaging, and deliverables.
  • Mentor and partner with internal leaders to provide consistent, high-level support, enabling scalable solutions and sustainable project transitions as needed.
  • Lead targeted stakeholder outreach, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to deliver comprehensive analyses and actionable recommendations that drive decision-making.
  • Develop polished, executive-level reports, PowerPoint presentations, and strategic frameworks that articulate the vision, approach, and progress of key initiatives in a compelling and impactful manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in strategy or management consulting required.
  • Master’s degree in public policy or administration (MPP/MPA) or business administration (MBA) preferred and/or a minimum of 15 years of related experience.
  • Proven leadership in strategic project management, ideally in a consulting, global health and development, philanthropy, or nonprofit context.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures and build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong verbal and writing capabilities, strategic PPT development, and comfort with executive-level presentations and engagements.
  • Experience developing robust frameworks to articulate strategic priorities and tactics, tracking project progress, and collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
