Job description

Job Title: Program Analyst

 

Job Summary:                                                  

CASES is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing data, developing insights, and providing recommendations to support decision-making processes. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their data needs, designing and implementing data collection systems, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy. An organized problem solver who can synthesize program data and reporting at a high level. CASES is a New York City non-profit organization at the forefront of pretrial services, alternative-to-incarceration, and behavioral health treatment programs for people impacted by the criminal legal system.

 

Salary: The salary for the Program Analyst role is $60,000 per year.     

Shift Hours: The Program Analyst is full-time; working Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Location Address: 151 Lawrence Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201

Workplace Flexibility: Remote; Positions for which an employee is not required to work at a CASES worksite. May be required to attend in-person meetings/ and or trainings.

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Extract, transform, and format data from agency databases to generate monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports. 
  • Analyze program and operational data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide actionable insights. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of program operations and agency databases to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting.
  • Collaborate with program staff and leadership, varying in data expertise, to identify and address missing or inaccurate data, contributing to continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the development of data visualizations and dashboards, ensuring that Pretrial Services staff are equipped with actionable insights to support decision making.
  • Write and execute database queries to address the needs of the executive team, funders, government agencies, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage special projects and assist with the preparation of requests for proposals, foundation reports, and fundraising efforts.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with CASES’ mission, cultural competency guidelines, anti-discrimination policies, and other relevant procedures.
  • Support any additional tasks as required by the Manager or Senior/Executive staff.

 

What we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions) and other MS Office applications required.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, program evaluation, or related fields preferred.
