We’re seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented medical writer to join our team, working on a high-profile rare disease account. If you have previous experience delivering creative content within a healthcare communications agency and have a passion for medical affairs, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.

The role

This role is part of a key medical affairs account that focuses on a rare metabolic disease. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of medical communications projects, from developing high-quality educational materials to delivering enhanced event content and digital assets. This role offers a unique combination of scientific depth and creative challenge, ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful contribution to the field of healthcare communications.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality scientific content on a fast-paced and growing global medical affairs account
  • Alongside senior writers and the editorial lead, providing clients with a high level of scientific and strategic expertise on medical communications projects, including slide sets, infographics, training materials, advisory boards, digital resources and congress activities and materials, among others
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client products and strategy, as well as the wider therapy area
  • Establishing and building positive long-term relationships with client teams and medical experts
  • Building collaborative partnerships across internal teams

What you’ll need

  • Previous medical writing experience within a healthcare communications agency, preferably with a focus on medical affairs
  • A strong academic background in a life sciences subject
  • Excellent storytelling and creative thinking ability, with the drive to explore new ways of communicating data and scientific concepts
  • Comfortable receiving feedback from colleagues as part of the content generation process
  • Strategically minded, with a desire to contribute to discussions with clients and offer fresh approaches (with support of the team)
  • Strong editorial skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure, have excellent organizational and time management skills, and be able to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines without compromising on quality
