Position Overview
We are seeking a Managing Consultant to lead a dynamic team of up to seven technical professionals. This role requires strong expertise in systems integrations, data analytics, and a proven track record of delivering on billable client projects. The ideal candidate will have a balance of leadership skills, technical proficiency, and client-facing experience to drive projects to successful outcomes while mentoring and developing the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee a team of consultants/engineers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment. Participate and lead cultural activities.
- Client Project Delivery: Manage and deliver billable projects on time and within scope, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Technical Solutions: Develop, implement, and oversee integration and technical solutions for complex client requirements.
- Data Analytics: Lead the design and deployment of data analytics initiatives, translating client needs into actionable data insights.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and clients to gather requirements, provide project updates, and address technical challenges.
- Resource Management: Allocate team resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects to optimize utilization and productivity. Provide team timely feedback and write semi-annual reviews.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Revenue Accountability: Drive billable utilization, contributing to the achievement of revenue goals and profitability targets.
- Create Repeat Customers: Help customers understand new ways Avicado can provide value, help with drafting scopes of work, and execute change orders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, systems integration, data analytics, or similar client-facing roles.
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Systems integrations (APIs, middleware, cloud platforms)
- Data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python-based tools)
- Enterprise software solutions (e.g., PMIS, ERP, CRM, or BI systems)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver billable client projects while meeting utilization goals.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, clients, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with integration platforms such as Boomi, Mulesoft, or Talend.
- Experience with data analytics platforms such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Experience with capital projects and/or construction data such as Procore or e-Builder.
- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Jira, DevOps).
- Previous experience in a professional services or consulting environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, Data Analytics, or Integration-specific certs).
