Sr. Underwriting Support Specialist

Division: Property

Reports to: EVP, Underwriting Management

Travel: 0-15%

Work Environment: Remote

Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a motivated individual for the role of

The successful candidate will work closely with the EVP of Underwriting Management– Property to provide best-in-class underwriting support to all Property LOB Teams and their leaders.

Role responsibilites:

  • Assist with the completion and reporting of projects for the Property segment, using Jira tracking system

  • Assist with carrier underwriting audits, including the coordination of providing system access

  • Assist with internal audit/peer review process for each LOB

  • Collaborate with Risk Management on all audits and other risk-related requirements

  • Assist with due diligence requests from carrier partners on contract renewals

  • Assist with compliance requests from carrier partners and collaborate with Claims, UW Operations and other departments as needed, depending on the original request

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of UW guidelines and LOAs

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of policy language forms libraries, including collaboration with carrier partners for successful approval of new or revised forms

  • Conduct system and rater testing, in conjunction with the LOB

  • Provide system tutorials for auditors and carrier visitors

  • Participate in the system issue prioritization process in collaboration with IT and Property System Development Teams

  • Assist with the development of formal procedural documents as needed

  • Serve as a liaison to UW Operations, providing guidance on policy issuance, SLA audits with carriers and state bulletins

  • Serve as a liaison between the Chief Property Officer and other departments within the company

  • Assist with the ownership and management of DUAL University – Property for sharing of information

  • Assist with the development and implementation of underwriting support practices and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of each Property LOB

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned

Key requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of market experience is required

  • A minimum of 3 years Underwriting experience preferred

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

  • The ability to demonstrate critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment

  • The ability to travel a minimum of 0-15% of the time is anticipated

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal cross-functional teams, external carrier partners and intermediaries

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential issues and develop sound solutions to prevent future recurrences

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus

  • Experience working with insurance-specific platforms and systems

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
