Job Summary

The Vice President of  Interventional Radiology  (IR) serves as the leader of the IR modality business. Candidates should be strong subject-matter experts with experience in business management, marketing, and product development. The Vice President of IR reports to the Senior Vice President of Market Strategy of Commercialization. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to leverage extensive technical and clinical knowledge to build confidence in IR product line and showcase product differentiators. They will be leading the business to set strategy for marketing, product development, sales, service, and applications training for the modality. Candidates should have extensive experience in cross-functional collaboration with departments that support the modality. The ability to integrate technical and physics concepts with clinical and operational needs, to provide input for product management and to deliver internal sales training is critical to the role. The individual will use their leadership position to grow the business and reputation of the United Imaging IR, through selection of conference and tradeshows, development of customer relationships for references, and the development future product. The VP of IR is responsible for win rate in the modality and will have a team of IR Modality Managers (product specialists for sales) and a product director (modality expert) that will serve as product experts to drive sales and develop KOL references. Humility, energy, work ethic, and a focus on quality are all important qualities for this role as we build a strong culture of ownership and empowerment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop business strategy for IR products in the US, leveraging the United Imaging IR portfolio to meet market potential
  • Establish United Imaging IR brand with the US, growing the installed base and reputation by delighting customers with superior customer orientation
  • Support commercial team and modality managers with training and management, providing both proven and creative strategy, product knowledge, clinical motivators, and business insight to advance IR projects
  • Ensure modality managers develop and maintain an understanding of the unique customer needs for IR in general and specific to a given customers’ environment
  • Provide guidance for development, applications, service, and product management by being the voice of the customer to shape business decisions related to the planning, evaluation, purchasing, and clinical usage of IR
  • Together with the modality manager team, cultivate and maintain relationships with clients that have influence in IR equipment decisions, including radiologists, radiology managers, and technologists
  • Manage internal IR support teams to advance sales projects through product knowledge, clinical demonstrations, and customer installed base references

Working Conditions:

Magnetic Environment Exposure:

This position requires working in an environment where strong magnetic fields may be present. Employees may be exposed to powerful magnets, electromagnetic equipment, or other devices that generate magnetic fields.

Due to the nature of the magnetic environment, employees must not wear or carry ferrous metals on their person while in the designated work area. This includes, but is not limited to, metal objects such as steel, iron, and other ferrous materials. Additionally, employees with implants, medical devices, or foreign objects containing ferrous metals within their body (e.g., certain surgical implants, pacemakers, or metal pins) may be at risk and must disclose any such conditions to their supervisor prior to starting work. 


Minimum Requirements

Education

· Bachelor's degree or above; advanced degree is desirable; broad business experience including research and development, product management, business development, marketing, and sales is preferred or equivalent work experience


Experience

· Candidates will have 15+ years of experience in healthcare and 10+ years of experience in medical imaging, business management, and sales or related roles;

· Candidates must have solid experience in clinical applications, medical physics, product management or related roles working in Interventional Radiology and in the Cardiology lab arenas.

Required Skills or/ Attributes 

· Business management experience including strategy, market development, product development, and sales management· Expert-level knowledge in the computed tomography including principals of ionizing radiation and dose management, detector technology, acquisition and reconstruction methods, spectral imaging, and related AI-assistive technologies.· Background in medical physics, radiology technologist, biomedical engineering, or related.· Deep market intelligence and knowledgeable in competitive landscape · Excellent customer facing skills with ability to develop relationships throughout radiology including physicians, technologists, physicists, and administration. · Experience of quota-carrying sales within an IR modality (or closely related) sales role, serving as the sales specialist· Demonstration of a strong customer orientation, high energy and motivation, and willingness to travel throughout the US;· Integrity/Resourceful/Self-Starter/Prospecting Skills/Consultative & Solutions Selling;· Strong Communication Skills/Strong Business Acumen/Competitive Spirit/Coachable;· Objection Handling Skills/Negotiation and Closing Skills/Results Driven/Flexible;· Strong Presentation Sills/Executive Presence/Collaborative
