Job description

Wanted: A Budding Master-Builder of Security-Centric Automation
(Also known as a DevSecOps Automation Intern)
EMBARK ON YOUR JOURNEY

We invite you to join Entara and start your journey as a DevSecOps Automation Intern. In the face of ever-increasing, complex threats and dynamic security events, Entara has embarked on a journey to build the world’s first eXtended Service Provider (XSP). We have earned our stripes on the frontlines, rebuilding organizations in the aftermath of ransomware attacks. We are in the midst of expanding our DevSecOps practice as we respond to the demand for a top-tier, AI-focused automation team.

Our fast-tracked, internship programs are where many EntaraCorps began their career progression into both positions that influence our clients’ lives on a daily basis. This is an opportunity to enhance your skills with hands-on experience by working as part of a small, focused team responsible for refining and automating playbooks, processes, and technology solutions that range from common client needs to unique and complex issues for individual clients.

As a DevSecOps Automation Intern, you will work within our DevSecOps Team. Your role will support the creation, implementation, and optimization of automation systems which increase our productivity and reduce overhead. You will engage in understanding our toolsets, refine and automate playbooks, and collaborate with senior engineers ensuring best outcomes, growing your skillset, and contributing your own project-based work. Entara's universe is vast, and we're on the hunt for a budding master-builder with a foundational knowledge in programming, a natural eye for optimization,  and a burning drive to dive deep into the realms of business process automation—Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and help us develop automation solutions that will have Entara and our clients singing “everything is awesome”?

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

(Otherwise known as the fine print, the list of job tasks and responsibilities.)

Our DevSecOps Automation Intern will run in the trenches -- optimizing our environment, answering client and internal automation requests, and developing business process automations. Time will be spent developing automation, working toward eliminating inefficiencies from our internal team’s and external client’s work. Our DevSecOps Automation Intern will be primarily engaged within a focused team and will report directly to our DevSecOps and Platform Manager.

Given we are a remote company, our internship is 100% remote- allowing us to interface with budding security professionals across the United States.

Anticipated Internship Dates: Twelve consecutive weeks, running from: Monday, June 2, 2025-Friday, August 22, 2025. Interns are expected to work Entara’s standard working hours: 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday.

Our DevSecOps Intern is expected to:

  • Understand Entara’s Ticketing Systems & Documentation

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 2001, Entara is an eXtended Service Provider (XSP) focused on providing cutting edge technology and cyber security solutions to companies in regulated industries. With our roots in providing service to the electronic trading market, we are known for growing with the pace of technological change and the developing security needs of our clients. We are redefining ourselves - and our industry - and creating a new class of service providers, XSPs, because we recognize that MSPs and MSSPs are no longer what our clients need. Downward pressure from both regulators and insurance providers convinced us that it was time to integrate our IT and cyber security offerings and deliver strategic, future facing solutions for our clients.

In order to build, maintain, and optimize these types of solutions, we need high-performing, highly-collaborative teammates who are excited to join in this journey with us. There are several reasons why employees love being a part of the Entara team. We’ve been recognized as one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For since 2017. We are a remote-first workplace. We seek to build a team that’s brought together by more than just skills, but who embrace a personal-alignment to the values that precede the work we deliver: Empathy, Excellence, Execution, and Evolution. If this sounds like you, let’s connect and discover if we have the foundation to build something great together.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN

You’ll have a direct impact on our operations, our clients, and our fellow EntaraCorps members. Because of that impact, you’ll get our respect and gratitude for the role you play in making Entara the best it can be.

We’ll provide you with skills, training, responsibility and opportunities to grow, both at Entara and wherever your career takes you in the future. (However, we hope you’ll be successful here for a good, long time.)

Here are some of the perks we currently offer our interns:

  • Competitive, hourly pay: $20/hr
  • Inclusion in Company-wide training events and development opportunities.
  • Scheduled time to showcase your completed summer project in a presentation to some fellow EntaraCorp teammates as an endcap to your summer!
