Role Summary:
The Senior Product Manager of Data Products will own the end-to-end lifecycle of key data products—from ideation and roadmap development to execution and continuous improvement. You will serve as the bridge between our Data Products team and our business units, ensuring that data products not only meet technical standards but also deliver clear business value. This role requires a blend of hands-on product management, technical insight, and a passion for leveraging advanced analytics and AI technologies. You will be play a role of an IC as well as facilitate roadmap and strategic business requirement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management:
Define and manage data products (dashboards, self-service tools, semantic layers) from concept through launch.
Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
Establish product requirements and success metrics, ensuring every release is data-informed and customer-centric.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Act as the primary liaison between business units (Product, Finance, Marketing, etc.) and the Data Products and Engineering teams.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and BI teams to integrate and optimize data solutions.
Gather market and stakeholder insights to inform product decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Governance & Best Practices:
Enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and consistency.
Champion agile methodologies for iterative development, rapid release cycles, and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
Provide training, documentation, and support to enable embedded analysts and promote self-service analytics.
Innovation & AI Integration:
Leverage advanced analytics and AI, including Generative AI and LLMs, to enhance data products and drive actionable insights.
Integrate AI-driven insights into dashboards and self-service tools to create innovative, high-impact solutions.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of product management experience or equivalent experience in building data products to solve business problems with data and capabilities.
Proven experience in data product management, analytics, or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.
Experienced in product discovery, including user research, interviews, and journey mapping.
Advanced in data analytics tools to track KPIs, identify insights, and inform decision-making.
Solid understanding of data warehousing, data governance, and BI platforms (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience managing the full product lifecycle in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in roles that require close alignment between business and technical teams.
Degree (or higher) in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Familiarity with online marketplaces or digital business environments.
Experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance data products is a plus.
