The intern’s role will be to shadow the Internal Communications team to gain insight into the process of developing and managing an intranet and extranet, essential communications platforms for the American Cancer Society’s more than 3,500 team members and volunteer leaders.
The Internal Communications team intern will get hands-on experience creating pages and content leading up to the launch of the new American Cancer Society modern intranet and extranet, designed to drive success across the organization’s remote-forward workforce. The new platform is expected to launch this summer, so the intern will be part of the launch team for this exciting new project, a milestone for a Communications team.
Major responsibilities will include:
Converting a list of digital assets into pages designed appropriately for a modern intranet and extranet web-based platform, targeted to employees and leadership volunteers.
Ensuring content is translated appropriately from one type of asset to another, checking for style, accuracy, grammar, and design consistency.
Working quickly to get up to speed with the specific web design platform, collaborating with colleagues to learn the tool.
Collaborating with internal communications colleagues and others across ACS on page design as needed to ensure accuracy of project.
Position Requirements:
The rate for this position is $15/hour. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
