Are you a top-tier project manager with electric utility experience? Do you have a track record of exceeding expectations when it comes to timing, budget, and client satisfaction? If so, we want to talk with you!

We’re looking for a project manager to join E Source Solution Services. You’ll plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants. You’ll also define project objectives with identified stakeholders and oversee quality control throughout the project.

E Source provides predictive data science, research and advisory, and solution services to help utilities make decisions that benefit their customers, their bottom line, and our planet.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs, work products, and deliverables on time, within budget, and with high-quality results.
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee multiple workflows within complex projects to meet defined requirements or business specifications.
  • Work closely with client’s project sponsor, project lead, and others to guide efforts toward achieving the utility’s business requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate management, client, and software vendor involvement throughout the life of the project.
  • Manage project risks by conducting regular project reviews with team members and reporting results to management and client’s project sponsor.
  • Lead project teams in accomplishing project objectives by scheduling, coaching, counseling, and managing.
  • Use Project Management Institute standards.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets, reporting risks or variances as required.
  • Communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, and managing contract deliverables; appraising and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans, preparing and completing action plans, completing Microsoft Project schedule evaluations, managing risk, completing productivity and quality reviews, resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, and implementing change.
  • Build expertise by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Provide effective project quality control by monitoring progress and work teams and then providing appropriate updates and recommendations to management and client management.
  • Maintain predefined standards for project deliverables and ensure that they meet specifications and quality control reviews.

What will make you a good fit:

  • minimum of ten years’ project management experience with at least five years of experience in the utility energy and water sector.
  • Oracle Customer Care & Billing (customer information system) experience required.
  • Proven experience with people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management in functional and technical areas of a utility business.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently and aggressively track to project timelines.
  • Expert knowledge of project management tools, like Microsoft Project, and methodologies.
  • Highly skilled at critical thinking, analysis, business planning, and communication
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, math, or business, or an equivalent body of experience in the project management field.
  • Oracle CC&B Upgrade/C2M experience preferred.

A little about E Source

Utilities across the US and Canada face the same fundamental, day-to-day challenges: to ensure reliable service for every customer while maintaining and modernizing aging distribution networks and meeting regulatory requirements—all while keeping rates affordable. At the same time, climate change has created a common, universal call to action: to reduce our carbon impact, improve our environment, and ensure the prosperity of future generations.

At E Source, we’re dedicated to helping every utility become a Sustainable Utility. That means doing the hard work it takes to achieve goals that often seem at odds with one another:

  • Environmental responsibility: Decarbonizing operations, reducing emissions, eliminating water leaks, and finding efficiencies
  • Reliability: Providing safe, continuous, and consistent service in the face of increasing volatility caused by climate change, including extreme weather, drought, and fire
  • Equity: Making services and programs truly available to all, especially low- and moderate-income residential customers and small and midsize businesses who are often disproportionately impacted by societal events
  • Financial stability: Ensuring a bottom line that affords capital and operational expenditures while enabling innovation and giving back to our communities

E Source blends industry-leading research, predictive data science, and solution services to help utilities make better decisions to serve their customers, their bottom line, and our planet. With a commitment to practical innovation, we use more than three decades of utility-focused experience and our unique solution set to help our clients become a Sustainable Utility.
