Job description

The Vice President of Analytics and Business Intelligence will be a senior leader within the company responsible for developing the vision and leading the implementation of analytics, business intelligence, and AI use cases for the enterprise. Reporting to the Executive Vice President/CFO, the VP leads the team responsible for the development and delivery of business intelligence KPIs, value-added analysis, data governance, and prioritization and sizing of automation use cases.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Development and delivery of KPIs + Data Infrastructure
    Liaise with all business units and shared services across the organization (e.g., Fixed Radiology, Mobile Radiology, Oncology, Finance, RCM, and other functions) to understand business drivers and develop appropriate KPIs that drive EBITDA performance
    Collaborate with IT to evolve and maintain our data infrastructure required to enable KPI publishing, value-added ad hoc analytics, and future AI use cases
    Manage a team of analysts who will source data and deliver KPIs and analytics via Tableau, Excel, and other tools to support Sales, Operations, Shared Services, and board requests
    Establish and maintain proper data governance to ensure the enterprise has a single source of truth for key data elements required for KPI development and publishing
    Prioritize and manage requests for additional reporting as needed from stakeholders across the enterprise

  • Analytics for Decision Support
    Lead cross-functional project teams to assess areas of opportunity for business process and system improvement, develop business case and roadmap of initiatives, work closely with Executive Leadership to prioritize and incorporate recommendations into our annual planning processes
    Collaborate with Finance partners to provide analytics to problem solve improving forecasting, ROI on strategic investments, and other requests as needed 
    Collaborate with internal teams to identify meaningful insights within the company’s data, which may then lead to the development and implementation of additional key enterprise-level dashboards

  • Analytics Strategy and AI Agenda
    Articulate and gain alignment on an analytics strategy and AI agenda that ties Analytics and AI to business value in the context of Akumin’s core businesses
    Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop an AI agenda and prioritize use cases based on value and feasibility
    Partner with Senior Leadership Team to create new products and initiatives that leverage available data, including the company’s and third-party data. Research and evaluate third-party data providers capable of enhancing the company’s data assets.
     

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's Degree preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, with progressive increases in management and leadership responsibility.

  • Experience in leveraging best practice advanced analytics (e.g. predictive modeling, artificial intelligence, machine learning) to drive business outcomes.

  • Experience working closely with executive leadership.

  • An inclusive, hands-on leadership style with proven experience leading, motivating, developing, and inspiring a team of analytics professionals.

  • Strong business as well as financial acumen

  • Strategic business thinker

  • Keen analytical skills

  • Deep experience in BI environment from transactional systems, data warehouses, BI tools, user interfaces

  • The ability to thrive within environments with ambiguous information and sometimes conflicting priorities

  • Proven ability to identify, recruit, train, and inspire a world-class employees and influence stakeholders throughout the organization

  • The ability to ask great questions

  • Travel will be required as needed

Physical Requirements:
