Country Medical Lead, you’ll play a
pivotal role in driving medical strategy, engaging with
key opinion leaders (KOLs), and shaping the future of
rare disease management.
About The Role
The Medical Affairs Lead is a scientific and clinical expert that strategically drives and supports the medical objectives of Alnylam in the area of rare diseases (AHP&PH1).
You will be accountable to communicate the science and clinical application of RNAi to Healthcare Practitioners (HCPs). You will provide support to all functions within the Country to ensure achievement of local objectives, in close collaboration with Global Medical Affairs to maximize patient outcomes by setting and continuously advancing the evidence-based medical standard of care.
In addition, you’ll build strong cross-functional relationships with colleagues in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, R&D, Patient Advocacy and Commercial Operations, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be UK-based and cover both UK (90%) and Nordics (10%).

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic Country Medical Affairs Plan
- Cultivate peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals & KOLs
- Lead medical education initiatives, including symposia and advisory boards
- Provide scientific expertise to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Support market access discussions on burden of illness and clinical trial data
- Ensure compliance with ABPI and IPHA Codes of Practice (Final Signatory required)
What You Bring
- UK-registered MD and/or UK-registered Pharmacist with Medical Affairs experience Final Signatory status under ABPI/IPHA
- Excellent fluent and verbal English
- Strong scientific & clinical expertise in rare diseases (preferred) Excellent analytical, communication & stakeholder engagement skills
- Authorization for material signature Code of Practice and ABPI in UK
