The role

We are seeking a Head of Sportsbook Architecture to design, implement, and manage our sportsbook and trading technology ecosystems. This role will be instrumental in realising the technology behind the products that are at the heart of our global sportsbook business.
 

As part of the Architecture function in Flutter Functions, the Head of Sportsbook Architecture will be accountable for the architecture of our sportsbook platforms, including risk, sports modelling and distribution.
 

The role holder will lead a team of architects to define the vision, strategy and roadmaps for the target state technology architecture. Including implementing the necessary processes and mechanisms that will enable alignment with the visions and roadmaps.
 

The role is pivotal to supporting not only Flutter Functions but all brands and divisions within the group that utilise them. The role holder will need to have strong convictions and opinions on what the right thing to do is for the long term of the group, whilst simultaneously being sympathetic and supportive to the short to medium-term needs of the brands and divisions.

 

What You'll Be Doing

• Partner with product, engineering and business teams to ensure solutions meet business needs;
• Formulate architecture strategy & vision to empower value and enablement workstreams to make their own decisions and act independently;
• Consistently demonstrate excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders;
• Lead a team of talented architects to design, develop and implement innovative, secure, scalable and reliable technology solutions;
• Attract, develop, and retain top talent;
• Proactively manage risks associated with technology choices, architectural decisions and system integrations;
• Support the architecture process that ensures that the right things are reviewed globally, by the right people, in a timely fashion.
  
   

What You'll Bring

• Experience operating in an architecture leadership role within a fast-paced online/eCommerce organisation;
• Experience with Sports betting platforms and the sports betting business and product landscape;
• Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable and reliable solutions;
• A strong relationship builder and motivator who will thrive on working closely with internal teams and across a diverse group structure;
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, requirements, and priorities whilst working to exacting deadlines;
• Fluent in technology architecture best practice – can set standards, and implement the right processes and forums to set the function up for success;
• Sees and lives architecture as an enabler of business value;
• Strong analysis, problem-resolution, judgment and decision-making skills;
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills – with an ability to simplify complex problems or solutions in a way that is easy to understand for a non-technical audience;
• Understanding of the core components of portfolio and demand management;
• Experience in managing or contributing to technology projects across different geographies.
