JOB SUMMARY
The Sr. Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is part of the field-based medical affairs supporting Canada and plays an important role in establishing, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to deliver clinical, pharmacoeconomic, and medical education in the opioid antidote therapeutic area. The Sr. MSL is responsible for leveraging his or her scientific background, industry knowledge, and business acumen to engage in appropriate, fair and balanced communication with KOLs in an assigned territory supporting research initiatives, advisory boards, publications, education, and other scientific activities to support Medical Affairs initiatives. Further, the Sr. MSL will provide product and pipeline therapeutic area expertise to address KOLs and HCPs inquiries and serving as a scientific expert to internal stakeholders. The Sr. MSL will work close with Medical Affairs leadership to develop and collaborate with other cross-functional teams to ensure that Emergent maintains a strong clinical and scientific presence in the field. The role will report to the Sr. Director, Global Medical Affairs

• Identify thought leaders, professional groups, organizations, decision-makers and other key stakeholders across Canada
• Engage in scientific exchange with identified key stakeholders
• Share and discuss evidence-based scientific data with stakeholders in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements and company compliance guidance
• Capture and report scientific insights obtained via appropriate scientific interactions
• Respond to unsolicited questions regarding opioid antagonist products and document these requests and responses through appropriate process.
• Facilitate education on disease state, product and landscape to internal & external stakeholders as appropriate
• Facilitate research initiatives at the direction of Medical Affairs leadership
• Lead departmental projects at the direction of Medical Affairs leadership
• Represent Medical Affairs at scientific meetings and conferences
• Contribute to the development of scientific materials
• Work with Medical Affairs leadership to develop and execute the field team strategic plan

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
• PharmD, MD and/or PhD (or equivalent education) in a relevant clinical/scientific discipline
• 5+ years MSL experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
• Experience working in a clinical or scientific role within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical research industries
• Working understanding of pharmaceutical industry compliance
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Self-starter who can work effectively within teams
• Ability to effectively present scientific information to diverse audiences
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and uses good judgment to make decisions
Preferred:
• Therapeutic area expertise in medical devices, opioid use disorder, harm reduction, opioid antagonist and/or adjunct clinical fields.
