THE ROLE
We are seeking a Director of Scientific Affairs to lead and oversee the scientific affairs and communications efforts at AG1. Reporting to the Chief Nutrition Officer, this role is responsible for setting the strategy and execution of scientific education, practitioner partnerships, and external scientific communications. This individual will lead a team dedicated to ensuring AG1 maintains its scientific credibility, healthcare professional engagement, and evidence-based storytelling. The role will work cross-functionally with marketing, product development, communications, regulatory, and external affairs to ensure AG1 scientific messaging is compelling, credible, and aligned with business objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop and drive the strategic vision for scientific affairs, ensuring AG1 is recognized as a leader in evidence-based foundational nutrition.
- Lead a team responsible for practitioner engagement, scientific education, and advocacy programs that strengthen external relationships with healthcare professionals, nutritionists, physicians, and sports organizations.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with key opinion leaders, research institutions, and industry experts to advance AG1 credibility and influence in the scientific community.
- Oversee the development of educational resources, scientific symposia, and practitioner training programs to enhance the understanding and advocacy of AG1 product offerings.
- Liaise with the Research team on the creation of scientific content including structure function claims, and leveraging white papers and research summaries to curate educational materials that effectively communicate AG1 scientific foundation effectively.
- Ensure all scientific messaging and communications are evidence-based, credible, and aligned with regulatory requirements, and external communications strategies.
- Oversee scientific storytelling ensuring content resonates with healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders.
- Serve as a scientific spokesperson at key industry events, conferences, and in media engagements, positioning AG1 as a leader in health and nutrition.
- Establish KPIs to measure the impact of scientific education, practitioner engagement, and external scientific communications.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of experience in scientific affairs, communications, or education within nutrition, health sciences, or a related industry.
- Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or similar preferred) in Nutrition, Biology, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
- Proven track record of leading scientific communications and healthcare professional engagement at a strategic level.
- Strong experience in translating complex scientific data into compelling and accessible messaging for multiple audiences including claims.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and managing high-performing teams within a scientific or educational function.
- Experience working with key opinion leaders, industry stakeholders, and research institutions to drive scientific credibility and partnerships.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to represent AG1 at scientific conferences, industry events, and media engagements.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $141,500 - $175,500 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
