Job description

The Data Strategy / Analytics Engineering team collaborates with partners across the company to build accessible and efficient source-of-truth datasets to fuel business analytics and product functionality. We uphold high standards in data through process, governance, and technical excellence.

As an Analytics Engineer on our Data Strategy team focused on our Performance Marketing organization, you will drive the roadmap and implement data solutions for our marketing technology. You will manage a complex data ecosystem across digital marketing channels, building an efficient and sustainable data environment to support our performance marketing team. This position is equal parts strategic decision making and meticulous execution. The ideal candidate is a technical leader skilled in stakeholder partnership and project management with an ownership mindset and enthusiasm toward driving the direction of marketing data and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Operationalize key performance marketing engagement and value data models
  • Partner with performance marketing stakeholders to understand business needs and propose data solutions to support their goals
  • Evolve marketing measurement in partnership with marketing analytics
  • Build and maintain data pipelines from marketing platforms
  • Partner with engineering to define requirements and design technical solutions that maintain data visibility and integrity
  • Identify opportunities and develop roadmap for marketing data infrastructure and solutions
  • Ensure data quality through testing and monitoring
  • Serve as a technical leader to analytics peers and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Develop expertise and perspective on our performance marketing technology and data flow

Key Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years experience in similar analytics/analytics engineering roles
    • 2-3 years working specifically with digital advertising and frontend eventing data
    • 2-3 years experience working with data transformation (dbt, or similar), workflow orchestration (airflow, or similar), and version control (git, or similar) tools
  • Expert SQL, experience and interest diving deep into ambiguous datasets
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Fivetran, or similar) and demonstrated ability to build reliable data pipelines
  • Strong data modeling skills with emphasis on building efficient foundational data to enable both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Skilled at communicating technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders, and translating business requirements into technical requirements
  • Strong project management and roadmapping skills

    • Experience with tag management and ad data platforms
    • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)

Here's The Pay Range

At Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is:

  • Zone 1: $135,000 - $164,000 TTC (including $121,000 - $147,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 2: $125,000 - $151,000 TTC (including $112,000 - $136,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 3: $115,000 - $139,000 TTC (including $103,000 - $125,000 base salary) + equity

This reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details provided do not include benefits and perks that we offer.

We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration.
