Job description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled People Manager to lead and support a team of Laboratory Service Representatives (LSR) and oversee the laboratory sample (blood) vendor management program. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful operation of partner laboratories, overseeing the safe collection and transportation of patient samples, and maintaining high-quality service standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a deep understanding of laboratory services and account management within the diagnostics or medical device industry. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee mobile phlebotomy vendor management including vendor selection, onboarding, contract management, performance monitoring and training.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the Mobile Phlebotomy Logistics Manager, and team of Laboratory Service Specialists fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Oversee the identification, evaluation, qualification, setup, and training of partner laboratories on CareDx testing processes and protocols.
  • Ensure consistent monitoring of partner laboratory operations through regular Laboratory Business Review sessions, focusing on performance and quality metrics.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address logistics, supply chain, and inventory management issues.
  • Oversee the optimization of CareDx’s blood access network (partner laboratories, mobile phlebotomy, couriers, etc.) using metrics and customer feedback.
  • Review and manage the quality of samples and services provided by partner labs, initiating timely mediation and retraining measures when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation in CareDx’s Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce) for all customer engagements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support commercial and corporate goals, providing updates on lab account performance in regular Regional Territory meetings.
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain management on the successful development and deployment of key activities impacting the laboratory and mobile phlebotomy supply chain (supplies, kitting, shipping, vendor management).
  • Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring a proactive and collaborative mindset within the team.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and updating the blood access plan to ensure quality, volume, and enhance both patient and customer experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS, AA, or equivalent) in medical laboratory technology or a related field. Equivalent laboratory or healthcare experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory services, account management, and team leadership within the diagnostics or medical device industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing a field-based team.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a diverse team, promoting a positive and productive work culture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%-40% to support team and partner laboratories effectively.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • MT(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) certification, or equivalent, is a plus but not required.
