Job description

Quality Lead – Multilingual Data
Location: Candidate must be based on Europe and required to work CET hours
Department: Operations
Reports To: QA Manager


Position Summary:

As a Quality Lead specializing in multilingual data, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance of data across various languages. Your work will play a critical role in improving the quality of multilingual datasets used in AI, ML, and digital products, directly enhancing the end-user experience and supporting client objectives.

You will lead quality assurance efforts for tasks such as data annotation, cleaning, and analysis while collaborating with linguists, annotators, data analysts, project managers, solutions managers and client stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage quality processes across multilingual datasets, in a cost-efficient way, ensuring high standards of linguistic excellence.
  • Review and validate annotated or cleaned data for accuracy, consistency, and cultural appropriateness.
  • Design and implement quality assurance strategies tailored to each language and task type.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for reported errors and propose corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with annotators, linguists, vendor management and QA teams to maintain a shared understanding of quality expectations.
  • Support training and onboarding of annotation teams to maintain quality benchmarks.
  • Perform multilingual data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to integrate linguistic quality metrics into broader data workflows.
  • Provide feedback to improve guidelines, tools, and processes related to data tasks.
  • Act as point of contact for client stakeholders regarding quality processes and participate in business reviews, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Computational Linguistics, or a related field. Master's preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in language QA, data annotation, localization, or multilingual data-related roles.
  • Proficiency in at least two languages (in addition to English) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data annotation tools and multilingual datasets.
  • Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and cultural contexts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies, quality metrics, and issue-tracking systems.
  • Ability to lead teams and projects in a fast-paced, multilingual environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with NLP or machine learning pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data cleaning, categorization, or classification techniques.
  • Experience working with global teams and managing data-specific QA processes.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex linguistic issues to non-linguists.
