Job description

A Credentialing Specialist is responsible for verifying medical licenses and credentials within the healthcare sector. Their role involves maintaining accurate records of medical staff, updating credentialing databases, and ensuring that all staff members hold the necessary legal certifications to practice in their respective fields.

TASKS (Including but not limited to):

  • Review and confirm the validity of medical staff credentials, licenses, and certifications.
  • Keep credentialing records and databases accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
  • Handle the credentialing and re-credentialing application process for healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate with medical boards, licensing bodies, and healthcare institutions for verification purposes.
  • Track and monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, and renewals.
  • Assist with audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation.
  • Communicate credentialing requirements and status updates to healthcare providers.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, insurance guidelines, and government regulations.
  • Generate reports and maintain documentation related to credentialing activities.
  • Safeguard confidential healthcare provider information and maintain data security.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have Credentialing experience
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical-related background
  • Familiar with medical terminologies
  • A healthcare-related degree is highly preferred
  • Intermediate skills with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • HIPAA Certification is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail

    • Computer Operating System: At least Windows 10/11 64-bit or macOS Ventura
    • Headset: Any USB-type headset with noise-cancelling feature
    • Camera: Capable of a clear and crisp video output
  • BACK-UP
    • OPTION 1 (BACKUP SYSTEM):
      • Computer Processor: Intel Core i5-5000 (5th Gen or higher) or AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
      • Computer Memory/RAM: 8.00 GB
      • Computer Operating System: at least Windows 10/11 64-bit or macOS Ventura
      • Headset: Any USB-type headset with noise-cancelling feature (Optional)
    • OPTION 2 (POWER SUPPLY - UPS):
      • Must be capable of powering your work station for at least 3 hours
      • Typically a device with 240Wh or higher will be sufficient
      • Must be capable of accepting all the plugs required to maintain the primary device and work environment (device, monitor, modem, cell phone if using as internet backup)
