Not familiar with trade promotion spend?  That’s OK.  Most people aren’t.  It’s a $8 trillion dollar problem that is ripe for disruption by an innovative SaaS startup.  In order to grow, consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands spend 20% of their topline revenue to get into retailers and promote their products within those retailers.  The problem is that today 70% of those promotions are not ROI positive.  This is because ROI is hard to track.  The industry operates on emails, pdfs, and xls spreadsheets. At Vividly, we’re solving this massive problem with exciting tactics including AI, Machine Learning, and Fintech and adding value to everyone in the chain. You Are

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer and Technical Lead at Vividly, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction, execution, and quality of our software. This will be both through prolific code contributions, but also serving as a technical lead on a small pod of engineers. While you won’t be a direct people manager, you’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to prioritize projects, break down complex initiatives, and ensure high-quality delivery. You enjoy thinking about scalability, performance, and maintainability, ensuring that today’s work lays a solid foundation for tomorrow’s growth. You are excited about both backend and frontend challenges, balancing API performance, system architecture, and user experience. You thrive in leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers, and making impactful technical decisions that help shape our engineering team and platform.

What You Will Do

• Own the technical quality of designs (architecture) and code across full-stack projects.
• Lead technical decision-making, including evaluating and introducing new technologies where appropriate.
• Break down projects into well-defined initiatives, ensuring execution is smooth and efficient while delegating to engineers on your pod.
• Partner with Product and Business to prioritize work that balances customer impact, tech debt, and long-term scalability.
• Act as the first point of contact for cross-team dependencies and technical areas of concern.
• Be a prolific individual contributor, setting the technical bar for the team while mentoring and guiding engineers.
• Ensure the Definition of Done is met for all new services/features, maintaining high standards in testing, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to deliver intuitive, high-performance user experiences.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold engineering best practices.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, continuously evaluating new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve our stack.

What We Look For

• 7+ years of experience working as a software engineer in architecting, building, and scaling products
• Experience with our tech stack (GCP/Python/Django/React/Redux/SQL/Docker) or a similar stack
• Experience with GraphQL/Apollo
• Experience with Rust
• Exceptionally strong analytical, communication, and mentorship skills demonstrated through experience; detail-oriented, self-motivated, and willing to take the initiative to get things done
• Love of math and problem solving
• Willing to work with a diverse set of people with different backgrounds and experiences
• Experience working as a software engineer in architecting, building, and scaling products; demonstrated business-level impact across multiple cross-functional teams
