Segment Manager Supermarket and Retail


In close cooperation with the BENELUX sales management and the regional sales teams, the Segment Manager Supermarket & Retail establishes, develops and manages the sales success in the Food and Non-Food Retail sector in the Netherlands.


Your role

  • Manage sales and drive business development in the Food and Non-Food Retail Sector – with a primary market focus on centrally managed retail chains and in the Netherlands
  • Identify and develop customers (end-users, architects and outfitters), win projects and achieve Preferred Supplier status
  • Develop a solid business network with relevant industry bodies and key stakeholders in the sector
  • Cooperate closely with the BENELUX Sales Management, Area Sales Managers and Segment Management in France (HQ)
  • Conduct market research activities and report market trends / requirements to the Segment Management and R&D
  • Contribute to the brand awareness of Gerflor in the Retail sector
  • Attend to relevant trade shows and exhibitions


Our requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in sales of building materials / design products to the NL Supermarket / Retail sector
  • Proven experience in business development and entrepreneurial mind-set
  • Proactive sales approach (hunter) and strong sales track record
  • Good networking skills and the ability to develop long-term oriented business relations
  • Structured working approach, able to handle complex decision-making structures and long project life-cycles
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively in NL
