PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Regional Manager of Staff Appraisers will lead and engage the Staff Appraisers within a specified region of the country. The Regional Manager of Staff Appraisers is responsible for a team of assigned professional residential appraisers and includes the effective supervision and administration of assigned staff including development and training, coaching and performance management, employee relations, and identifying market growth opportunities. This role provides guidance, leadership and clear communication of performance expectations and performance feedback to assigned staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Tasks:

  • Create, analyze, and effectively communicate, understand, and utilize key performance indicator reporting around volume and performance to drive continuous improvement and efficiency throughout the staff appraiser team
  • Consistently challenge the performance of the team to ensure efficiency, accountability and performance are a top priority
  • Work with the staff appraisers to identify, implement, and actively manage an up to date and efficient appraiser profile and pipeline for all appraisers within the assigned region
  • Continuously work with other departments to create and maintain a constant communication and feedback loop
  • Resolve escalated files/issues that require coordination with other departments
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility
  • Assist and support training and development in implementing new policies and procedures to help meet company goals as necessary
  • Provide coaching and development tools as needed to drive performance efficiency throughout the staff appraiser team
  • Model and demonstrate positive cultural behaviors for all team members in the organization with a focus on the Class Valuation vision and values
  • Identify areas of opportunities for growth within the assigned market and work collaboratively with other departments to facilitate those growth opportunities
  • Assist other Regional Managers as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular attendance is a requirement


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Real Estate Appraisal – A working knowledge of the principals, practices, methods, and techniques of appraising residential real estate.
  • Supervision - Thorough knowledge of leadership techniques, principles, and procedures to supervise, train, performance manage, and evaluate the work of assigned staff.
  • Customer Service – Thorough knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes setting and meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Performance Management – Effectively identify, provide feedback, and coach assigned staff to a predetermined set of key performance indicators.
  • Relationship Management – Develops and maintains cooperative and professional relationships with the staff appraisal team members, all other Class Valuation employees, managers, and the senior leadership team. Shares knowledge with staff for mutual and departmental benefit.
  • Computer Skills — Utilizes personal computer applications to include database administration, word processing, spreadsheet, and related software.
