How you'll make a difference?
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for generating sales revenue within a particular geographic region and be a product expert on all product lines while maintaining and developing a customer pipeline.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties as tasks as needed and assigned.
Generate leads through daily sales activity.
Maintain customer satisfaction at existing customers, while also generating new business.
Collaborate with Clinical Solutions team to plan and execute clinical evaluations, labs and new customer installations.
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
Be able to demonstrate the company products to potential customers.
What skills and experience will you need?
The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
3-5 years of experience in Capital sales
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal skills.
Complete understanding of Operating Room protocols.
Confidence to communicate with established physicians and other surgical personnel.
Must be extremely organized with the ability to multi-task and manage a large territory with multiple responsibilities.
Must live within geographic region and within 45 minutes of a major airport.
Must be able to travel at least 75% of time with frequent overnight stay
What qualifications are preferred?
The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above.
Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities:
3-5 years of capital sales (>$500,000) experience with documented success
3-5 years of spine sales experience with strong surgeon relationships
Strong coaching and consulting skills with the ability to quickly gain credibility and partnering collaboratively with peers and leadership
Ability to identify and articulate appropriate concerns; develop realistic recommendations and interpret plans; communicate and message changes effectively; build commitment and overcome resistance; monitor transition and evaluate results.
Strong written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels if internal and external customers.
Highly developed analytic/problem solving skills and the ability to interpret and translate strategies and conceptual information into results.
Highly effective project management skills with a complete understanding of business processes and the ability to integrate multiple resources for integrated recommendations and solutions.
