About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. Head of Supply Chain Strategy and Excellence
Reporting into VP of Global Supply Chain, this strategic leader will transform Supply Chain’s operational standards and systems for global commercial requirements. This role encompasses all end-to-end supply chain activities including forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, production control, logistics, order fulfillment, and lifecycle implementation management.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement improved supply chain processes and KPIs based on data analysis.
Collaborate with Clinical Development, Commercial, Sales & Operations Planning, external stakeholders, and suppliers.
Ensure Supply Chain strategies align with corporate strategies and portfolio lifecycles.
Improve customer satisfaction and operating efficiency.
Lead a global effort to design supply chain systems for inventory, supply, and demand visibility.
Manage a high-performing team and facilitate execution of Supply Chain business operations.
Lead an organizational function with direct and indirect reports.
Build adaptable and lean business processes for Supply Chain transformation.
Benchmark industry standards for supply chain excellence.
Integrate with clinical and commercial business requirements, finance, and digital expectations.
Represent Global Supply Chain in key SAP programs.
Support regional and central supply chain functions with continuous improvement.
Establish and monitor KPIs and deploy a control tower for Supply Chain business processes.
Develop Supply Chain’s digital strategy and roadmap.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business; post-graduate education preferred.
Experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology industries, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience in design, build, and optimization of supply chain processes and systems.
Proven track record in developing and deploying structure and process for leading supply chain.
Excellent interpersonal and demonstrated influencing skills.
Experience managing interdisciplinary development teams.
APICS, Lean, and/or Six Sigma certifications.
SAP implementation experience.
