Job Description
As an RTO Product Developer / Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of learning and assessment resources that align with current VET compliance standards and best-practice adult learning principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop compliant training and assessment tools in accordance with VET and RTO standards.
Create engaging, learner-centered content using instructional design methodologies and adult learning theories.
Develop learner guides, assessment workbooks, session plans, presentations, and support materials.
Design multimedia content including interactive videos, animations, and infographics using video development tools.
Produce high-quality visual materials using graphic design software to enhance learning and retention.
Collaborate with trainers and SMEs to ensure content accuracy, engagement, and alignment with learning objectives.
Implement feedback and updates through continuous improvement activities.
Ensure all resources reflect brand guidelines and provide a professional, user-friendly experience.
Stay up-to-date with emerging design tools, video creation techniques, and eLearning trends
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Instructional Designer in the RTO industry in Australia.
Experience working for an Australian Client/Business is required.
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development.
Formal qualifications in instructional design, education, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in instructional or learning design.
Strong understanding of VET compliance and RTO standards.
Proven experience developing resources across delivery modes: eLearning, blended, face-to-face, and virtual.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in Articulate Rise, Storyline, and Canva for creating interactive and engaging digital learning.
Experience with video development tools and multimedia production.
Comfortable working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a project-based environment.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in dynamic work environments.
