Role Purpose
To attend customer sites as part of the systems engineering team and undertake installations, moves and changes following a customer generated script. IMAC activity will include un-packing IT equipment and installing in specific locations and configuring units to a pre-defined standard following detailed instructions. This will include the installation of both hardware and software products. To undertake engineering project work as directed by the business including but not limited to software installations, hardware installations, decommissioning, and auditing
Key Responsibilities
Attend a range of customer sites to provide high quality support on installation and deployment of IT hardware and software products, within the required customer parameters.
Required to Install & configuration desktops, laptops and peripherals including user data migration, network printing and network drives.
Assist with initial builds and configuration of new or existing laptops and desktops ready for issue to customer end user.
Work efficiently and proactively to deliver IT support and deployments services to a wide portfolio of customers.
Undertake floor walking activities to support deployment activities.
Using strong technical and customer service skills, ensure that customer issues are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
Complete all work assigned in a timely professional manner and to a high standard.
Work with and communicate effectively to managers and relevant stakeholders both within SCC and within customer as required.
Support and work alongside team members or work efficiently as an individual on a customer site.
Required to embrace and train on any new technologies and maintain the skills and knowledge required to perform the role to the required standard.
Will be compliant with management system policies, company policies & guidelines and take responsibility for health & safety in the workplace.
Will be required to assist the Project Team Leader or Senior Systems Engineer in overseeing project activity where required.
Will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours in line with customer requirements.
Will be required to stay away from home including some international travel.
Will be required to work a certain amount of overtime when required to do so.
Will be familiar and comply with all SCC and customer polices and processes relevant to the role and/or your responsibilities to SCC and our customers.
Skills And Experience
Be professional and presentable at all times.
Must have a full UK driving licence, where required for the role.
Possess excellent customer facing and communication skills.
Be flexible and pragmatic in their approach to the work assigned.
Must be able to obtain the Government and/or Police Security levels required in order to meet the operational requirements of the role (no caveats) and as per the requirements stipulated in relevant customer contracts
Will be self-motivated with good organisational skills and can work unsupervised.
Will have good problem-solving skills.
Have a demonstratable knowledge to work in the IT sector and perform a technical role.
