Job description

This is a remote position.

A growing company in the mental health industry, supporting clients across Europe, the UK, and Australia is looking for a creative, proactive, and experienced Social Media Specialist to join their team part-time, approximately 40 hours per month, fully remote.

This role is ideal for a digital storyteller who is passionate about mental wellness and skilled at bringing brand voices to life online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule engaging content (written, visual, and video) for LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Collaborate closely with the business owner to develop authentic content aligned with his voice and the brand’s mission
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content, including reels, using tools like Canva (and ideally Adobe Suite)
  • Design impactful graphics that resonate with mental health audiences
  • Snip and repurpose longer videos into social-ready clips
  • Write compelling copy for posts, captions, and headlines
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all platforms
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide insights to refine content strategy
  • Proactively bring creative ideas to the table—campaigns, content series, trends to explore
  • Act as the voice of the brand across social platforms, ensuring a consistent and empathetic tone
  • Stay updated on best practices and platform changes, especially in the mental health and wellness space

Requirements
  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in social media management and content creation
  • Based in South Africa with reliable internet and the ability to work remotely
  • Proven experience creating content for international audiences, ideally including UK, Europe, and Australia
  • Strong proficiency with Canva
  • Experience with video editing and content creation tools (e.g. Adobe Suite is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with platform-building tools such as Shopify is advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Highly proactive, creative, and self-motivated
  • Strong understanding of brand voice and ability to adapt messaging accordingly
  • Passion for mental health and a genuine interest in helping others through online content


Benefits
Approximately 40 hours per month, fully remote


Salary:

R300 - R330
