About the role:
As a Senior Director Plant Project Delivery you will lead the development of Westinghouse AP1000 and AP300 large reactor projects to support business growth and successful project implementation. The primary focus is on developing the “strategy” for large reactor project delivery, through the project’s lifecycle, and managing the front-end phases before project transition to EPC implementation.
You will report to the Senior Vice President - New Plant Projects. This role is remote, and no relocation is offered. No sponsorship is available.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Westinghouse organizations to standardize project deployment using lessons learned gained from prior projects. Additional focus is to lead improvement delivery processes to support business scale up of project delivery capabilities. Develop and maintain main relationships to foster collaboration across WEC and external partners. You will also manage client contracts for early phase front end engineering and project feasibility activities.
Establish cooperation agreements with strategic construction partners and interface with internal commercial operation organization to support a win-win product development roadmap. Analyze project delivery projects to improve cost, schedule and risk profile with a focus on the project scope. Support implementation of assigned Governance and Oversight accountabilities.
Develop and manage standard “strategy” for large reactor project delivery applying prior project experience and lessons learned. The strategy will be used to support strategic planning and standard approach to project execution
Lead contracts for feasibility studies and front-end engineering in the early phases of large reactor projects before transition to EPC implementation phase
Lead development and management of business cooperation agreements with strategic construction partners
Optimization Concept - Lead studies and analyze overall technical and economic impacts of project delivery concepts focusing on engineering and procurement items:
a. Conduct workshops and mine data to determine main delivery issues and lessons learned
b. Prioritize and scope delivery models to achieve standard product cost, schedule and delivery certainty goals
c. Lead teams to document methods, best processes, resource requirements, lessons learned and metrics within product delivery models.
Develop and implement necessary project management processes to support project execution efficiency and compliance.
Lead the interface with Westinghouse functional group leadership to ensure that needed expertise and numbers of resources are available to support demand of all Energy Systems project opportunities
Lead the interface with Westinghouse commercial operations to support maximizing project delivery strategy
Perform assigned Governance and Oversight of standard project delivery and early project phase contracts
Qualifications:
20+ years experience in Project Management of large engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project. Nuclear project experience is desired but not required.
Ability to travel (+/- 20%) will be required (Poland/European Union)
BS degree in engineering, construction management or project management master’s degree project management or business administration desirable
