ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Product Compliance Specialist to ensure our growing product catalog meets regulatory standards in all markets we serve. You'll work directly with labs, regulatory institutions, and cross-functional teams to minimize risk and ensure product safety at every level.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of global product safety laws and directives (REACH, WEEE, etc.)
• Experience with technical documentation, product testing, and compliance certifications
• Excellent attention to detail and project management skills
• Familiarity with third-party testing labs like SGS
• Understanding of eco-compliance and sustainability best practices
• Experience in eCommerce or with children’s products is a strong plus
• Experience working with or for government product inspection institutions (e.g., SOIVRE in Spain or similar agencies across Europe).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate with SGS on compliance test reports for products in the pipeline
• Determine applicable regulations for each product (e.g., Toy Safety, REACH, Packaging Directive, WEEE Directive)
• Create and maintain product technical files, risk assessments, and documentation
• Collaborate with product leads to assess testing needs and inherent risks before product launches
• Manage annual retesting of products across all necessary countries
• Ensure packaging and warning labels meet visibility, size, and positioning requirements to reduce legal liability
• Set up processes to prevent faulty or non-compliant inventory from entering the supply chain
• Build a system to monitor ink or chemical mixture imports per country to meet international limits
• Establish forward-looking compliance processes to check ingredients and prepare for potential substance bans
• Explore and implement strategies to make products more eco-friendly and acquire sustainability certifications
• Transition to a more reliable responsible person for product compliance and recalls
• Ensure company registration on relevant product packaging and WEEE compliance portals
