ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) is an essential role that manages the day-to-day operations within the People Department in alignment with agency needs and priorities. The Sr. HRBP in concert with the Vice President of People (VPP) will lead the conceptualization and implementation of services, policies, and programs.
Working closely with the Vice President of People (VPP), this role creates and implements cutting-edge practices to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement, retention, employee development and ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws.
This position requires an extremely perceptive incumbent with exceptional communication skills who is capable of building trust and respect with employees within the organization. The Sr. HRBP must be capable of both thinking strategically and executing tactically to meet organizational needs, employee goodwill, and the overall needs of the business. This position requires a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Co-manage the execution of daily operations of the People department.
- Act as an advocate and change agent to support organizational culture.
- Partners with the team to understand the organizations human resource strategy particularly as it relates to retention, succession, and workforce planning.
- Recommends policy and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the People department.
- Leads employee relations processes and workplace investigations, in alignment with agency and team goals. Ensures the VP of People (VPP) is informed of all issues.
- Advises and coaches managers on People policies, core values and programs.
- Co-partner with team on the development and implementation of employee health benefit programs with support of Benefits Broker and VPP.
- Serve as an ambassador and strategic partner in supporting the alignment between agency goals and performance objectives.
- Under the direction of the VP of People (VPP), continuously research and monitor total rewards program offerings to ensure the agency attracts and retains top talent.
- Monitors and evaluates employee satisfaction and attrition levels, and recommends strategies and employee-focused programs and activities aimed to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws/regulations, new products, methods, trends and advances in the profession, professional affiliations, and proactively makes recommendations for change, and educates the people team as such.
- Co-partner with team on reporting including 401K Audits, BLS reporting and WC.
- Serve as a back-up to the agency payroll function.
- Serve as back- up for leave of absence administration (FMLA, STD, LTD, Parental Leave, etc.)
- Leads and performs projects as directed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field.
- Professional HR certification is preferred (e.g., HRCI or SHRM).
- 8+ years’ previous experience in Human Resources. Strong experience in benefits, compensation, compliance, onboarding/off-boarding and employee relations, preferred.

- Proficient computer skills to include the MS office suite, applicant tracking systems and experience with payroll/benefit systems.
