Marketplace Specialist

As a motivated, self- starting Marketplace Specialist, you’ll bring your car-savvy and eye for detail to help sellers bring their collector cars to auction. You’ll ensure every auction listing is accurate, visually compelling and up to Hagerty standards. You’ll work directly with sellers to bring 4+ listings to market each day by gathering vehicle information, building auction listings, and curating high-quality photo galleries that showcase each car in its best light. A key focus of this role is the research and writing of the description of each car you bring to auction.

What you’ll do

• Write unique, creative, engaging, informative auction descriptions that accurately describe our listings.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sellers throughout the listing process.
• Collect and verify detailed information about vehicles, including specifications, service history, and ownership background.
• Coordinate and organize vehicle photo submissions; ensure photo sets are complete, high-quality, and follow brand guidelines.
• Relay and emphasize the importance of professional photography to sellers to bring the best listings to market.
• Assist sellers with guidance on how to photograph and present their vehicles effectively.
• Provide sellers with critical feedback about how they can improve their listing.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure listings are launched on schedule and meet quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records and track progress of each listing through internal systems.
• Track and achieve day-to-day business goals that contribute to our company targets.

This might describe you

• Strong prior online auction experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience in content creation, copywriting, or editorial work is a plus.
• Familiarity with photography basics and visual presentation best practices.
• Knowledge of or passion for classic/collector cars is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable with image file handling, resizing, cropping, basic editing.
• Ability to project manage multiple listings at various stages with minimal oversight.
• Ability to edit and fact check listings
• Proven ability to navigate day-to-day problems with minimal oversight.
• Proven ability to create 4+ listings per day, with little dependance from team members.
• Broad knowledge of online auctions and the collector car market as a whole.

Other things to note

• This position can be worked as a remote position within the United States.
• Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
