Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Cyber Defense Engineer (multiple positions) in Minneapolis, MN.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes and controls related to cyber defense initiatives.
  • Implement and support solutions and technologies, including network proxies, intrusions, detection/prevention systems, remote access, second factor authentication, security event monitoring, infrastructure and system hardening, patch deployment, and vulnerability management.
  • Coordinate and drive remediation of identified risks and control deficiencies.
  • Optimize security processes and recommend opportunities and solutions for improvement and automation.
  • Serve as technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas, raising awareness and communicating security risks within the company.
  • Support and participate in incident response and technical investigations as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance regulations and policies.

Basic Qualifications:

Position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 2 years of experience as a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect, or a related occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:


Experience must include 1 year of experience with each of the following: 1. RDBMS development. 2. AGILE environment. 3. Hadoop, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, Sqoop, Hive, PySpark, Impala, AutoSys Scheduling, Tableau and MSTR.
