Faculty Development Coordinator
APUS
Reporting to the Dean of the Center for Teaching and Learning, the CTL Faculty Development Coordinator is responsible for e-learning instructional design and content development. This role includes the creation of rapid e-learning solutions, managing learning management systems, event registration, and moderating webinars. The coordinator will also handle training deployment, instructional design, and the development of professional development modules for university faculty and students. Additionally, this position requires initiative, self-direction, flexibility, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Performs e-learning instructional design (e.g. SME knowledge transfer, research, curriculum, scripts, scenario/branching, etc.)
- Performs e-learning content development that is 508 compliant using tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud, Synthesia, Canva, Camtasia, Kaltura, etc. to create interactive e-learning assets, video, audio, and graphics.
- Researches, plans, develops, and builds faculty development training that strengthens University faculty members’ understanding and abilities to teach in online and mobile environments.
- Leads faculty to effectively use teaching and learning strategies that leverage the capabilities of the University LMS and various mobile devices.
- Makes revisions, improvements, and additions to the faculty candidate training course and to professional development trainings and workshops, to include developing and writing faculty development courses and/or lessons.
- Facilitates small focus group sessions.
- Plans, oversees, and conducts live webinars
- Plans and executes new CTL programs and develops new faculty training assets and resources
- Manages the faculty section of the faculty campus and makes regularly scheduled contributions to the CTL blog.
- Develops and implements strategic initiatives to enhance faculty development programs, ensuring alignment with the university’s goals and objectives.
- Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of faculty development activities, making data-driven recommendations for improvements and innovations.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to design and execute policies and procedures that support the continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
- Investigates, resolves, and recommends solutions for issues, grievances, or feedback
- Administers and provides technical support for the LMS.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated skills in e-learning instructional design and content development.
- Proven online training/facilitation skills (e.g., instructor-led asynchronous, synchronous, and blended eLearning).
- Demonstrated experience developing web-based, mobile-ready, multimedia content and learning assets.
- Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements.
- Experience with best practices in developing faculty professional development modules/events/activities.
- Ability to facilitate small and large group training and development sessions.
- Knowledge of University policies, procedures, organizational structure, and mission/vision.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and prioritize time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to work as a team player with excellent communication skills.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in executive support or administrative management positions
- Online learning platform experience required.
- Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements required.
- Multimedia experience related to teaching and learning required; experience with Camtasia, Canva, and the Adobe Creative Cloud tools preferred.
- Experience using Adobe required.
