Job description

This is a remote position.

As a member of the Technical Communications team, this role combines project coordination and linguistic expertise to work on all aspects of localization initiatives at LocalEyes/STAR7 End Client, ensuring timely and accurate translation of both technical and marketing content across multiple languages and teams. The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills to enable Agile development and continuous delivery of translated materials, while focusing on tactical requirements that enhance the international user experience. Success in this role demands a strong understanding of localization processes and tools, coupled with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality localized content.


Requirements

Project Coordinator

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and stakeholders to plan, schedule, and coordinate various localization projects from initiation to completion
  • Monitor progress, communicate status, and proactively address any risks to ensure on-time delivery
  • Conduct file preparation and analysis, develop cost estimates, and determine project timelines based on CAT tool data
  • Routinely communicate with the Localization Service Provider (LSP) and/or our end Client’s Localization Language Specialists (LLSs) to ensure they have the proper reference material for localization and provide both teams timely feedback or responses to queries
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager, Project Manager, Localization Engineers, and stakeholders to produce error-free translated deliverables and ensure that the quality of materials meets the enterprise standard, demonstrating strong attention to detail

Linguist

  • Translate, revise, and proofread technical and marketing documents and software applications across all of the end Client product lines for target language specialty
  • Maintain and improve the translation memory and glossary files to increase product localization process efficiencies
  • Check translation files for correctness, escalating issues when necessary
  • Edit grammar, punctuation, style, and language-specific slang in the language of expertise
  • Translate concept expressions and intent markers from English (US) to target language
  • Ensure that content translated from English (US) effectively conveys original meaning in a manner that is readable and understandable in the target language and mindful of cultural differences
  • Track, prioritize, and resolve product localization defects

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the project management/coordination or localization industry (Required)
  • Ability to write in and translate into target language on a native speaker level (Required)
  • Business level proficiency in English (Required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience translating software content (Required)
  • Ability to execute multiple tasks and project deadlines simultaneously (Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool experience, preferably XTM (Required)
  • Experience managing localized deliverables (Preferred)
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (including Excel and Word) (Preferred)
  • General experience with macOS and iOS platforms (Preferred)
  • Software development industry experience, Agile (Preferred)
Education & Certifications
  • Post secondary certificate (Required)
  • 4 year / Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
