Position Purpose:

The Supervisor of Accounting Specialists is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Specialists team, ensuring that services are provided efficiently, on time, and in line with customer expectations. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, and compliance across SLA deliverables. This role also involves managing team performance, optimizing processes, and resolving accounting-related issues. The incumbent of this role will also collaborate with internal warranty teams to ensure a streamlined process.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Serve as a warranty accounting subject matter expert 
  • Lead a team of Warranty Accounting Specialists focused on in-depth accounting services across a broad range of clients
  • Manage broader responsibilities, including performance, enforcing policies, and making decisions that impact the team
  • Ensure accurate and timely review of accounting schedules, reconciliation, and compliance with internal and client standards
  • Conduct quality audits of reviewed schedules and provide actionable feedback to staff
  • Ensure Dealer Metrics on a monthly basis
  • Maintain OEM training and/or certification, if applicable
  • Facilitate team meetings to ensure company business items are understood
  • Participate in Kickoff and Claims Initialization meetings, if applicable 
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes client satisfaction
  • Model, train, and coach expectations to deliver the service standard
  • Participate in interviewing and selecting of new team members
  • Assessing, building, and sustaining a high level of team expertise, ensuring sufficient talent pipeline for future promotions
  • Lead a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management (listen, observe, recognize, and coach) on critical behaviors
  • Serve as second-tier support for client escalations or process issues, ensuring prompt resolution and communication
  • Scheduling and ensuring there is coverage/back-up 
  • Provide oversight and knowledge of the accounts within your team and escalate to and partner with Customer Success and Operations leadership to control preventable churn
  • Ensuring each client account is reviewed by yourself or your team on a weekly basis to ensure currency/professional standard of service  
  • Verifying any bonus program payouts 
  • Proactively coach employees as needed
  • Utilize various tracking tools to ensure team members are working appropriate hours and maintaining a balanced workload across the team

Requirements

What You Need for This Position

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or financial operations preferably in an automotive dealership environment
  • 5+ years of supervisor or team lead experience 
  • Strong knowledge of dealership accounting principles, schedules, and OEM guidelines
  • Expertise in Excel or Google Sheets 
  • Expertise in financial reporting tools and dealer management systems 
  • Technology skills to utilize the WarrCloud Platform, various DMS systems, and OEM-based software
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • A passion for people 
  • Empathy for customers and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor under challenging conditions
  • Strong communication skills and professional writing skills 
  • A desire to find solutions not just identify problems
  • Strong sense of self-awareness and people management skills
  • Awareness of the overall business and weighing decisions for the greater good vs. individual thinking
