Job Description: As the Supply Chain Director, you will oversee and manage the entire supply chain process for our e-commerce business, encompassing logistics, distribution, purchasing and procurement, manufacturing, marketing integration, inventory management, and customer experience. In addition to leading the supply chain function, you will directly manage a small Customer Experience team to ensure service excellence and alignment with operational goals. Your role is crucial in advancing production targets, resolving business challenges, and ensuring seamless, customer-centric supply chain operations. You will lead with strategic vision and strong leadership, driving continuous improvement and innovation. This position demands a strong analytical thinker and problem solver with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment, with an eye for detail and a deep understanding of inventory control, transportation, and comprehensive supply chain knowledge tailored specifically to the demands of e-commerce.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement long-term supply chain strategies that align with business objectives and drive scalability
Provide high-level strategic oversight of supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with financial goals and company initiatives
Establish, monitor, and report on departmental OKRs and metrics to assess strategic supply chain performance
Collaborate with Finance and Operations leadership for fully integrated supply chain strategy
Logistics & Distribution:
Oversee global and domestic logistics and distribution operations, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of products
Oversee and optimize transportation networks, freight costs, and supplier distribution models to improve efficiency
Manage relationships and costs with third-party logistics providers, transportation carriers, and warehouse teams to drive performance and cost optimization
Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions
Purchasing & Procurement:
Direct procurement to source materials and services at competitive prices, prioritizing domestic suppliers when possible
Optimize supplier contracts, cost structures, and sourcing diversification to enhance resilience and profitability
Implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure inventory availability and eliminate controllable out-of-stocks and waste
Manufacturing Coordination:
Lead collaboration with third-party manufacturing to optimize production schedules and align with supply chain capabilities
Ensure efficient production workflows, inventory levels and demand forecast to meet customer demands
Identify and address bottlenecks, implementing automation or technology solutions where necessary
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Director of Marketing to align supply chain operations with demand forecasts, promotional strategies, and new product launches
Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to balance cost efficiency with service level agreements
Collaborate with the Customer Experience to proactively address supply chain-related issues and enhance customer satisfaction
Provide strategic and operational oversight of a small Customer Experience team, with direct management responsibilities to ensure alignment with supply chain priorities and a high standard of customer service
Inventory Management:
Develop and implement advanced inventory control measures to minimize costs and prevent shortages or excesses
Oversee warehouse operations and 3PL partnerships, ensuring smooth coordination and optimal inventory distribution across facilities
Oversee regular inventory audits and leverage data analytics to drive decision-making
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with domestic and international industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies
Manage risks associated with supply chain operations and develop contingency plans
Direct compliance audits and implement proactive measures to mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities
ERP System Planning:
Lead long-term planning for ERP system implementation to support future supply chain automation, data accuracy, and operational efficiency
Research and evaluate ERP solutions that integrate AI-driven analytics for forecasting, procurement, inventory, and logistics
Partner with cross-functional leadership to build a scalable ERP roadmap and prepare teams for eventual adoption
Ensure data governance strategies are developed in advance of ERP implementation
