Summary

This Senior Project Manager role manages all aspects of the Lean and Six Sigma development and certification activities at the KCNSC. This role serves as the primary point of contact to all Green Belt and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) candidates as they train and complete certification projects. This role also includes support and coordination for the Lean Expert and Black Belt program training delivery and certification tracking in partnership with Lean Masters and Master Black Belts across the KCNSC.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Executes program management activities and standard work to manage the Lean Six Sigma Program. Provides expertise to review and drive execution of innovative solutions to program/project issues.
  • Partner with candidates, mentors, and managers to enable candidate learning resulting in ongoing application of problem solving methods after certification.
  • Ensures positive experience for program candidates through high quality training delivery, leveraging support from a network of experts from around the business.
  • Drives primary support to the planning, monitoring, scheduling, and preparation and training delivery for the GB/DFSS program.
  • Leads problem solving to include efficiency improvements in program administration and other kaizen as assigned. Coaches, mentors, and develops program mentors and GB/DFSSS candidates.
  • Represent the KCNSC in communication with other NNSA sites regarding continuous improvement at the KCNSC. Identify and complete other process improvement projects as assigned.

You Must Have

  • Ability to travel as per business needs.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project planning, engineering of products or processes or contract management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or 2 additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • United States Citizenship
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of and experience with Lean and / or Six Sigma tools, methods, and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Lean Six Sigma tools and methods. Demonstrates broad knowledge of project and program processes and principles including chartering, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Able to engage, support, and develop mentors & instructors around the business without direct line reporting relationship.
  • Lean Expert or Black Belt certified with experience mentoring green belts Possesses ability to communicate with multiple levels of management on program/project information within the organization.
  • Possesses general knowledge of business processes, engineering, supply chain management, demand management, contract management, and / or financial management.
  • Possesses Project Management Institute (PMI) and Agile certifications.
