Job Overview:

  

The Director of Continuous Improvement reports directly to the VP of Global Service and is a key Leader within Industrial Physics. This role will be focused on driving process improvements and consistent global processes and system use for end users, channel partners, and internal associates. In addition, this role will be a key participant in future acquisitions and act as the lead for integration activities. 


This role can be located anywhere in the continental US with proximity to a large airport. Virtual remote collaboration with global teams is expected; 30-50% travel to key account customer sites, global operations sites, and M&A targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivates the development of a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within Industrial Physics’ Global Service organization.
  • Drive efficiency in operations, deliver cost savings, and provide information that will support our company on a path of aggressive growth and transformation.
  • Evaluate all improvement opportunities through the lens of our customers, directly or indirectly improving our customers’ experience, while supporting the strategic direction of the company.
  • Focus on analytics utilizing data to understand business performance, identify problems, and drive both short and long-term countermeasures.
  • Lead the identification, development, and implementation of process improvement projects across departments utilizing lean principles and process improvement tools.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to measure the impact of initiatives, track performance improvements, and identify further areas of opportunity.
  • Partner with leaders from Operations, Product Management, Commercial, and other teams to ensure initiatives are aligned with business needs and supported across the organization. Build consensus with other teams.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues at all levels, building strong relationships and fostering teamwork.
  • Align business needs across multiple teams and geographies and act as a liaison between systems teams (SFDC, Power BI, and miscellaneous ERP systems) and key stakeholders.
Requirements

Competencies:

  • Strong, influential leader with a passion for driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Experienced in leading large-scale process improvement projects, post-acquisition integrations, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Skilled in project management, communication, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficient in process mapping, root cause analysis, and aligning improvements to performance gaps.
  • SFDC expertise with the ability to translate business needs into scalable, efficient solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field required, MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 12 – 15 years of progressive work experience, of which at least 6 years in technical service and support in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement education including practical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience leading and managing people and teams remotely is required.
  • Global experience and acquisition integration experience would be ideal.
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with SFDC in a customer service environment
