The Federal Transit Administration is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager responsible for managing and overseeing the work performance of multiple projects. This role serves as the principal liaison to the Government on business and technical matters related to program and project implementation. The Project Manager will direct, prepare, and oversee program development proposals and will be instrumental in developing, planning, organizing, coordinating, and allocating staffing resources to contracted task plans and sub-task plans. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for selecting, directing, supervising, training, monitoring, and evaluating program personnel.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the successful execution of multiple transit projects, ensuring alignment with government regulations and organizational objectives.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Government regarding project status, issues, and solutions.
- Develop and prepare comprehensive program development proposals to facilitate project initiation and funding.
- Organize resources and develop task plans to ensure timely project completion.
- Train and mentor program personnel, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
- Monitor project performance and conduct evaluations to ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage project budgets and timelines, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
**Education:**
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field; preferred relevant fields include transportation, government, engineering, business, or law. Additional education is advantageous.
**Relevant Experience:**
- At least 20 years of relevant experience in project management, particularly in the transit or transportation sector. Additional experience is advantageous.
**Management and Leadership Experience:**
- A minimum of 10 years of management and leadership experience within complex project environments. Additional experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in safety risk management in a rail environment is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with SSO program requirements, including 49 USC 5329 and 49 CFR Part 674, is advantageous.
**Skills and Competencies:**
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to transit systems.
