You are someone who understands the complexities of FDA /USDA food formulation, claims, labelling regulations, and you have a passion for helping to assure compliance with regulations.  You also have an understanding of the Federal Trade Commission and other regulations that impact the information that is provided to consumers. You are a person who enjoys contributing to the success of a product and works well in a team environment.  You have an enthusiasm for reading and researching and an endless desire to learn. You are genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet. You are a rule-follower in general, but understand how to look at a situation to see if there are other ways of achieving the same goal. You can manage multiple tasks, meet the timing requirements for deliverables, and find solutions to problems as they arise.
 
The Task At Hand:
The Regulator Compliance Manager reports to the Senior Director of Quality and Compliance and plays a key role in supporting Product Development, Operations, and Marketing. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with food formulation and labeling regulations, verifying claims, managing the Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, reviewing Marketing communications, and managing change requests for our baby food products. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and accurate representation of O’Farm’s food products. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in food quality and regulatory compliance with a passion for infant nutrition and consumer transparency.
 
In This Role, You Will:
•       Assure all formulations are compliant with regulations, certifications, and claims (FDA, USDA, Health Canada, Organic, Kosher)
•       Create final Nutrition Facts Panels (NFP) using Flavor Studio software
•       Conduct thorough reviews of new packaging proofs at all design stages, including verifying the accuracy of ingredients, nutrition facts, and allergen declarations on labels
•       Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Marketing, and Packaging teams to ensure all product information is accurate and compliant, including Marketing Communications, Website, and Labelling
•       Claims (e.g., Nutritional, Health, Structure Function) compliance substantiation, verification, and validation requirements, including documentation library, testing plans, and policy development
•       Responsible for the determination and management of software used to create formulas and labelling information for NFPs
•       Management of the Quality Management System Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, including coordination, writing, training, and implementation
•       Management of Change Request Process
•       Monitor potential legislative changes at the state, federal, and international levels and support transitions for implementation, compliance dates of labelling changes
•       Support and guide department peers and external partners 
•       Other duties as assigned
 
In This Role, You’ll Bring with You:
•       Bachelor's degree in a science field, ideally in Nutrition, Biology, Food Science, or Chemistry
•       A minimum of five years of professional program management experience in regulatory compliance and quality management systems
•       Prior professional experience interpreting and applying complex regulations
•       Proven proficiency in nutrition analysis software and labeling databases, preferred Flavor Studio software
•       Familiar with the regulatory (FDA, USDA) labelling requirements for Infant to Adult age groups. Experience in 4-year-old and older labelling regulations
•       An understanding of the requirements for USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project Verify, Kosher, and other certifications as they apply to products
•       Experience in the development of Quality Policies and Procedure documentation covered under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). (e.g., SGS, BRC)
•       Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
•       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
•       Able to work independently
•       Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms
•       Up to 20% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter
•       Genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet
•       Desire to contribute to a dynamic, high-growth, purpose-driven work environment
•       Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy, and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment
•       Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and Operations preferred
•       Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position

Compensation:
•       Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt
•       The anticipated salary range for this position is $112,100.00 – 130,036.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
