As a Retention Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for helping the Retention team build out and execute the Email and SMS schedule, executing campaigns from start to finish, and providing reporting insights from campaign performance that drive future campaign strategy and iterations.
You’ll need a strong foundation in digital marketing tools such as email (Klaviyo) and SMS marketing platforms (Attentive). Additional responsibilities may include supporting marketing campaigns for our upcoming loyalty program and assisting the Paid Social Team with building paid social campaigns.
60% of Time:
Identify, build, execute, optimize, and measure both email campaigns and email automation flows including copy, creative, send strategy and list targeting according to set marketing deadlines can campaign dates.
Build, execute, optimize, and measure both email and SMS campaigns and automation journeys including copy, send strategy and list segmentation/targeting.
Build audiences and customer segmentation, deliver deep insights through data analysis and behavioral retargeting, and track email list quality and health
Maintain a healthy communication content schedule that is both engaging and effective
Actively participate in team chats, emails, documents, and meetings to obtain status updates and schedule changes.
Be able to set up A/B testing (layout, format, frequency, control and copy) to improve email and SMS performance
QA emails and SMS messages for accuracy prior to deployment.
Complete all schedule and task updates for the marketing calendar in a timely manner.
30% of Time:
Compile and present weekly insights reports of previous week’s campaign performance and suggest improvements
Report on KPIs from SMS & email marketing campaigns
Report on Churn and Retention KPI’s for our active customer base
Assist in marketing campaign email and/or SMS metric reporting to measure campaign success.
Work on strategies with stakeholders to minimize unsubscribes on the SMS and Email Lists.
Review retention and churn data to identify positive and negative trends and work to minimize churn and improve retention of customers.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or any related field
1-3 years of relevant experience in marketing, or communication
Excellent knowledge of marketing techniques and databases
Understanding of advanced marketing principles
Working knowledge of CRM tools
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under strict deadlines
Experience working in an Email Marketing Platform, SMS Marketing Platform
Basic HTML Skills
Is flexible, fast thinking, able to pivot and adjust in response to changing business needs.
Is organized and demonstrates ownership of workload.
Communicates (written, verbally) in a clear and concise manner.
Possesses a strong attention to detail and is able to differentiate campaigns/tasks that can sometimes have minor but visible name differences.
Able to multi-task and consume/react to updates sent through several sources (chat, email, notifications, meeting notes, etc).
Is comfortable learning new technology and navigating different user interfaces.
Understands the basic set-up needs for email and sms marketing.
