Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled CAD Designer/Drafter to support our global IWMS (Integrated Workplace Management System) operations. This role focuses on providing expertise in Archibus and AutoCAD to ensure accurate drafting, system integration, and data management for our global facilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams in different time zones, maintain precise documentation, and contribute to enhancing our IWMS workflows.

The CAD Designer/Drafter will be responsible for managing and maintaining as-built record drawings within the company’s Controlled Document Management System, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with global standards. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD, proficiency facility documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

AutoCAD Drafting and Drawing Management:

  • Create, update, and standardize CAD drawings for facilities projects, including tenant improvements, furniture layouts, and new space configurations.
  • Ensure all drawings are clean, standardized, and compliant with company design specifications.
  • Archive or remove decommissioned drawings and upload final versions into Archibus.
  • Ensure compliance with BOMA standards in all space allocations, reporting, and facility management tasks.

Archibus System Support:

  • Manage space types and allocations, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data for global facility records.
  • Troubleshoot integration and workflow issues within the Archibus system.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure system accuracy and performance.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with stakeholders in San Diego and other global locations to meet project deliverables.
  • Support the quarterly finance allocation review process by generating reports and metrics for Planning, MAC, and PM teams.
  • Participate in regular virtual meetings to align on tasks, priorities, and quality standards.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on drawings, data entries, and system workflows to ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Knowledge of BOMA Standards: Familiarity with building measurement standards for space allocation and reporting accuracy.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Engineering, CAD Drafting, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in technical drafting, AutoCAD, and/or IWMS systems, preferably with exposure to Archibus, maintaining as-built documentation, or similar roles in facilities management or real estate.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage CAD workflows and IWMS data integration.

Skills:

  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting tools.
    • Familiarity with IWMS platforms like Archibus (preferred).
    • Experience working with BOMA Standards for building area calculations, space classification, and facility data accuracy.
    • Drawing Standards: Familiarity with industry-standard CAD protocols, layering conventions, and file management practices.
    • Proven track record of managing CAD repositories and ensuring alignment with as-built conditions.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Strong focus on precision and accuracy in technical drawings and data entry.
  • Communication:
    • Ability to work across global teams and communicate effectively in English.
    • Problem-solving mindset and ability to troubleshoot integration and workflow challenges.
  • Time Management:
    • Comfortable working in a remote role with minimal supervision and able to manage time zone differences effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of facility management processes and standards.
  • Experience working in a global corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with global real estate or corporate facilities management.
  • Experience with space planning and furniture layouts.
  • Understanding of financial metrics related to space planning and allocations.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
