Job description

For our partner, we are looking for a Linux Engineer with hands-on experience managing Elasticsearch environments and a deep understanding of OS-level operational practices. This is a role for candidates who thrive in infrastructure management, system optimization, and performance tuning.


Ideal Candidate:

  • Proactive and comfortable working in a project-based environment, with minimal reliance on reactive support
  • Able to own infrastructure activities, resolving incidents or performance issues related to the infrastructure
  • Confident navigating complex system landscapes and implementing best practices at the OS and application level
  • Eager to contribute to platform stability, scalability, and performance


Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters in production and non-production environments
  • Perform OS-level administration (Linux), focusing on performance tuning, security hardening, and resource optimization
  • Support the scaling, resilience, and high availability of Elasticsearch farms
  • Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure-related issues, including indexing performance and system stability
  • Ensure security best practices across Elasticsearch and Linux systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and upgrades within the environment
  • Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, changes, and procedures


Requirements:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
  • Operational experience managing Elasticsearch clusters, including setup, tuning, and scaling
  • Proficiency in shell scripting and command-line tools for system management
  • Understanding of log management, data ingestion pipelines, and monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Middleware technologies is desirable
  • Openness to on-call duty (1 week every 5 weeks)
