Job description

Everything happens somewhere - which is why spatial analytics is fundamental to companies trying to understand the “where” and the “why” of their business. CARTO is the leading cloud-native location intelligence platform, trusted by data scientists, data analysts and developers from companies such as Vodafone, IKEA, Decathlon, Coca-Cola and Mastercard to provide geospatial insights for use cases such as site selection, geomarketing, route optimization, network planning and much more.

With an exceptionally diverse team of 150 people spread across the US and Europe, CARTO (backed by Insight Partners, Accel Partners, Salesforce Ventures, and Earlybird Ventures, among others) is changing the way companies analyze location data - making it simple to do this straight out of modern, cloud data warehouses. Redefining its category, the company has grown rapidly in recent years providing a compelling alternative to legacy GIS software.

To continue our growth, we are looking for a high-energy, organized, hands-on, and proactive Events Marketing Manager to own our Global Events Marketing.

This position will be based in Spain or UK, preferably in Madrid or London.

Responsibilities
  • Own our events planning and delivery process for both owned and sponsored events across the globe - e.g., Google NEXT, Snowflake Summit, and regional events.
  • Be the lead marketeer responsible for organizing CARTO-hosted events – Spatial Data Science Conference in London and New York, and Spatial Data Science Roadshows around the world, working with multiple internal and external stakeholders to make these events successful.
  • Identify priority events for us to participate in the data science, data engineering, cloud, software development, and analytics spaces, enabling us to generate leads and raise brand awareness in key markets.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure we maximize the pipeline generated from events, ensuring prudent lead collection and follow-up using tools such as Hubspot, Apollo, and Salesforce.
  • Work with Demand Generation to market our events presence effectively through channels such as social, email marketing, and outbound campaigns.

  • You are
  • You have bias for action: you get a buzz out of crossing things off your to-do list, you have the “get it done” attitude.
  • Detail-oriented: you know that great event marketing and management is all about the details and precision in delivery.
  • Ruthlessly organized: you know how to create and follow processes to ensure we meet deadlines and are prepared to make the most out of the events we attend.
  • An ideas person: you constantly think of new ideas to raise brand awareness and ensure we maximize our presence at events.
  • Commercial acumen: you care about what moves the needle for opportunity creation, rather than focusing on vanity metrics.
  • Data-driven: you are analytical and passionate about using data to drive an effective demand generation strategy.
  • An exceptional communicator: both internally between departments and externally with clients and partners. You don’t just hang out with the marketers, you make the effort to spend a significant amount of time with sellers, pre-sales, data science and product to gain insights that are relevant to your work.
  • Customer-centric: obsessed by the needs of our clients and prospects, constantly learning about how their challenges are evolving.
  • A true challenger: you’re not scared to challenge the status quo and guide our marketing strategy, working closely with senior leadership.

  • You offer
  • 4+ years of experience working in events marketing in a tech company.
  • Experience working with teams in multiple locations and cultures.
  • Experience working with marketing technology (e.g. Hubspot, Salesforce, Content Management Systems).
  • An eye for design and brand guardianship.

  • We offer
  • Competitive, results-based compensation
  • Access to our employee stock options plan
  • Private medical insurance
  • Flexible work hours in a focused but casual environment
  • Education Stipend
  • Flexible compensation
  • English classes
  • A big vision: to help the world use location-based data to make better decisions. We believe that openness and sustainability are baked into this vision, and we’re sharing it with the world.
  • To apply
