The Content Director is responsible for driving Professional Development’s interactive content development. Based on input from the market this person will execute our strategy to produce a consistent, quality stream of new courses throughout the year. The candidate will also identify and leverage subject matter experts and writers to assist with these efforts. The objective will be to execute from vision to create value-added content that maximizes the continued demand for and growth of our business in the marketplace.
The ideal candidate will be confident and comfortable at the tactical execution levels (i.e. both planning and writing), will be a strong researcher, writer, and will be skilled in communicating with a team of SMEs and course developers to ensure they meet our objectives, timelines while executing high-quality standards.
Job Responsibilities/Best Practices of role:
· Develop, and manage the content development and content refresh schedule for non-webinar programs (this includes script writing)
· Ensure that the scripts address the desired topics, contain the correct key messages, and align with our style, guidelines, and objectives for interactivity and engagement
· Lead the expansion of our learning series on a variety of compliance and risk management topics; professional skills, management, and leadership topics; generative AI; and more.
· Engage with internal and external subject matter experts/attorneys, as appropriate, to draft compelling training scripts and interactive exercises.
· Align with product and marketing to ensure timely research is conducted to determine the needs and desires of customers
· Work with our elearning developers to review the developed courses and ensure that the concepts envisioned were appropriately brought to life in the finished elearning module
· Stay up to date with emerging trends, the competition, technologies and best practices in learning.
· Engage in any related change management initiatives by fostering open communication, minimizing disruption.
Desired skills and competencies:
· Has legal domain knowledge (better yet, domain expertise).
· Customer-first mindset
· Understanding of Professional Education Landscape a plus (legal and tax & accounting focus)
· Familiarity with interactive course management creation tools (Storyline, Articulate, Captivate)
· Solid and consistent communication and solid collaboration (be a great teammate and influencer)
